Class Counsel are here to support Survivors as they take this important step. We know that, after waiting many years for justice and recognition, the Claims Process is a major milestone in many Survivors’ lives.

Claims Process and legal support

For any questions about the Claim Form or Claims Process, please call 1-888-221-2898. You will be given the option either to seek support from the Administrator on submitting a Claim, or legal support and help filling out the Claim Form from Class Counsel.

Eligible individuals must have attended one of the identified Federal Indian Day Schools or Federal Day Schools during eligible years and experienced harm during such years. Check the List of Federal Day Schools (Schedule K) to check eligible schools and years.

Mental health counselling and crisis support

Available to Class Members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the Hope for Wellness Hotline at 1-855-242-3310 or online at www.hopeforwellness.ca. Counselling is available in English, French, Cree, Ojibway and Inuktitut, on request.

Claim assistance webinars

Any current or potential class member can register for these online webinars to learn more about:

  • The background and details of the Settlement Agreement
  • How to determine eligibility and file a claim
  • What to expect during the application process

During each 1-hour webinar, people will hear from Class Counsel about the Settlement and the Settlement approval process and have a chance to ask questions.
